    How does a person get to live in a Pillars Senior Living community?

    Answer

    People who want to live at a Pillars senior community will typically visit and take a tour. We show them everything from the library to the rooftop patio, from the salon to the putting green. We help people get a feel for the community, the residents, and the leadership team. After taking a tour, many prospects choose to put a reservation down on a specific apartment and schedule their move-in.

    Do you buy or rent apartments at The Pillars?

    Answer

    All Pillars apartment homes are rented. Residents living at the Pillars have full access to amenities like our: library, community room, theater, fitness centers, heated garages, lounges, salons, private dining rooms, and more!

    Does Medicare or Health Insurance pay for Senior Living?

    Answer

    Pillars apartment homes are considered private pay. Medicare and Health insurance do not cover senior living in our communities. Long Term Care Insurance may cover services if this insurance has been purchased in advance. (See your long term care policy for specifics.)

    Do I need a doctor’s order to live here?

    Answer

    As a part of our pre-move-in process, our Outreach and Sales Directors and our Directors of Health Services will need various pieces of information from you. Examples of needed information include: health information, financial information, family/next of kin information, etc. You will only need doctor’s orders if you choose to live as an Assisted Living or Memory Care resident.

    What’s the difference between Independent Living and Assisted Living?

    Answer

    All apartments in the Pillars’ communities can be independent living or assisted living—the difference between the two are the services and supports provided to the individual resident.

    People living in independent living enjoy all the perks of the community: fitness classes, art classes, parties, happy hours, private dining room, library, special events, concerts and much more. (see pricing sheet for full list) If they desire, they can also purchase options like safety pendants, meals, special community trips, etc.

    People living in assisted living enjoy all the community perks, optional meals, safety pendants, housekeeping, laundry assistance and many other services and supports. Assisted living optional supports include: medication management, safety checks, personal cares, etc. (See pricing sheet for full list.)

    What’s the difference between Assisted Living and Memory Care?

    Answer

    Memory Care residents have short- or long-term memory challenges that make it best for them to live in a smaller, secure environment. Pillars Memory Cares’ provide residents with a warm, fun, friendly, close-knit neighborhood with individual studio apartments, community lounges and kitchens, specialized activity areas, and beautiful outside secure garden patios.

    Each Pillars Memory Care offers the Ebenezer Dimensions program—designed to fully engage both resident and their families. Thanks in part from support of the Pillars Fund, we offer our residents everything from fitness and baking classes, to aroma therapy and fishing trips. In addition, our Memory Care residents enjoy concerts, crafts, culinary, person-centered care and more! Finally, each resident and their family have access to our full time Dimensions Managers—a full time team member who is specialized in working with individuals and families on the memory loss journey.
